My 96 disco tdi has recently developed an issue starting, it all came about when i almost ran out of diesel a few weeks ago. I coasted to a layby and walked the mile or so to a garage. Since this it seems to take forever for her to start up when cold. Any ideas to what this might be and how do i go about sorting it??????? I'm new on here so go gentle with the p**s taking for almost running out of fuel ;)

Thanks for that Wickford90 I have sent him a message and hopefully i can get this sorted cos it's doing my head in. I don't suppose you got any advice on bleeding the beast???? i've tried the ignition to pos 2 nd opening the bleed valve on the filter but nothing seems to happen and certainly no fuel pulls itself through :(

Have you changed the filterand cleaned out the sedeminter as thats the first thing you should do.IMHO
