Then your a muppet of the highest order. All that will get you is a good kicking at best or stabbed to death with your own knife at worst.

If you're gonna keep a weapon handy then use an hammer or pickaxe handle etc. In order to use a knife you have to get in close. and that means close enough for the other person to hit you. Also knives can easily get trapped or break, slip etc. unlike an hammer etc. Which as long as you keep a good grip on it can be used several times.

The voice of experience:Dpick axe or a staff is my choice:D

Have offered to be LZ official photographer and tea smd sympathy provider but don't know if services required.:p

Would it be mean of me to suggest that if a noob comes on here, asks for help - doesnt let anyone know details, then he cant be expecting much help.
I wouldnt go unless I knew what I was letting myself in for.
Could be Pikey waiting for "spares", for all we know
Sometimes you have to learn the hard way. Dont go laning on your own!

my sincere appologies to the affore mentioned. you are quite correct it is how we all learn however i still think it was a bit silly to go offroading on his own with road tyres on and no recovery equipment. as mentioned before i sent the chap an pm to try to find out where he was i have put the info up so i think i have done my bit. if i had recovery equipment i would have gone out to help him so please don't throw the dummy out again thankyou .. ron.

It's just a bit of banter, we've helped people over in Herts we've never met before, got one guy out this year who was stuck for 60 hours in a lane, cold, dark & wet, got home a 04:30 in the morning. We never leave anyone stuck. I don't know of any other place that you could go on and get help free of charge at any time of the day or night.

Ha has he gotten out then? Anyone remember when the wife got on here to ask for help for me?! Did it myself eventually but i had me trusty ferreting shovel and half bricks to shove under the tyres! Only took me 3 hours...:D:D:eek:

Think problem will be sorted soon.it's raining that heavy here that the poor bugger will be able to float out
