I fitted one last week from the same seller, 15" version. Its OK and delivery was really fast. I had a couple of issues with the boss though. It needed a good bit taken off the bottom of it to stop it rubbing on the steering column housing, and you need to bend the pins inwards to allow the indicator cancel to work.

Thanks for the info mate!
Does it fit well on the steering column or does it wobble a bit?

I fitted a 14-inch Mountney one to my 90 years ago, it did the job fine but after a few years I replaced it with a 12-inch Raid wheel which is still fitted today.
The only problem is that some people don't like the increased distance between the wheel and the stalks, I have lived with this for 12-years but a couple of weeks ago finally had the boss modified by a local engineering shop and now the stalks are within easy reach again.

"Does it fit well on the steering column or does it wobble a bit?"

You are kidding aren't you?
The boss HAS to be the correct fit to the splines and the wheel is bolted to the boss, if it wobbles then you've got a serious problem!

There has been a couple of guys that have mentioned that their steering wheel wobbles a bit and doesn't feel safe - i'll post a link ;)

Read that link.
No idea about a "universal adaptor", sounds very suspect and I can't imagine how it can be considered a safe method of fitting a wheel?
I have had two Mountney boss kits on my 90 and they were both designed for the column (either 36 or 48 spline). The original boss fitted the 14-inch Mountney wheel and the later one (which is still fitted) was made by Mountney but fits any wheel using the standard "6-hole" pattern.

Yep. Much wobble. If the boss that turns up has two lil grub screws send it back. I have phoned mountney a it wasn't a long batch. I hate it and it wobbles all the time. I am putting the original wheel back on. It's huge and the disk lol don't fit but it's solid and don't feel like I am turning with a paint tin lid.

12" wheel. I can't imagine you have the sharpness of turn with that.

Thats what put me off buying the mountney wheel - i went for the classic one in the defender bits link - supporting the sponsors too :D

"Problem was the two piece boss Is unreal crap."

Like I said, never heard of a universal boss that isn't designed for a specific column and certainly that isn't what is sold by 99% of suppliers.

12-Inch wheel is fine, I lived with the 14-inch on the same vehicle for a few years but decided that a 12-inch was the way to go and here we are 8-years later and I still like it.
You say I can't have sharpness of turn but it is just the opposite, the smallest movement at the wheel results in an instant change in direction which is great. Probably wouldn't suite everyone but then again many live with the standard wheel and I hated that.

No "wobble" mate, but I can see how some folks would feel the stalks were a bit far away. Don't bother me though as I've got big hands (theres a joke in there somewheres)

Been running with it a few days now, and no complaints. Mine has the two wee grub screws someone mentioned. Whats the issue with them?
