Picked up a used rear step at a boot sale last weekend. Should be good to go once I clean the old grease and a little rust off it. Anyone know what size/type bolts are needed to attach it to the rear bumper? My local LR shop didn't have them and couldn't tell me the size. Thx!

Just find a couple of suitable bolts and nuts and bolt it together... it's not as if it's a crucial part;):D

Sure, it's not a critical part, but the holes on the bumper look like they are threaded, maybe 11-12mm. I was hoping someone knew the exact diameter, thread pitch (or whatever the technical term is) and length required. Carrying the bumper into the shop would be a problem...:)

The threaded holes under the rear crossmember are (if they haven't been 'modified', like mine  ) M10

Because the mounting tabs on the step are not very thick, you need M10 Machine Screws (Bolts - threaded all the way to the head)

They need to be at least 20mm long (a little longer won't matter - but not too long)

As Buster has said, they aren't critical - so B&Q or Screwfix bolts should be adequate.

Also, use a flat washer and spring washer under the bolt heads - stops them working loose.
