Just a thought... had some industrial scales calibrated the other week & they use these weights.

Company called Avery scales they may have some old ones . Not got an email address.

They are sometimes called Avery weights, and some have Avery cast into them. Or a lot of other names, they were very common at one time, which is why there are so many around.

I’m looking, but haven’t found them, buggers are somewhere !

Thanks, but don't bust a blood vessel looking for them. I am not in a desperate hurry, but can pick them up when they turn up.

Just buy a sack of spuds when you take on fuel.
By the time the tanks empty so is the taters.

Sorted.

As it happens, the boat incorporates that idea in the design to an extent. The water tanks and generator fuel tank are in the forepart of the boat, and the propulsion engine tank is in the stern, the idea being that as all levels go down, the weight loss will balance out to an extent, and trim be kept fairly level.

Pleased you called my notice to this, I had forgotten to update.

We have now located a good weight, and it only cost a tenner, so thanks to all who have taken an interest. :)
