Got me to work last night, and more importantly home this morning. 25 miles in all. :bounce: I'm not over confident that shes not gonna let me down but things are coming together.

She ran pretty sweet, took two attempts to start this morning after standing for 10 hours, but that was without a purge, happy at that for the time being but still work to be done. Fuel pumps noisy and sounds like air is still getting in

Since the oil light went out, never to be seen again, I'm looking at fitting an oil pressure gauge just for peace of mind. I'd sooner have an idea if things are going tits up as it happens rather than a light to tell me its happened. I've seen VDO or similar come pretty recommended and I have a gauge fixation. Is it possible to find out if the sender unit is taper or parallel thread without taking it out and is there a specific type? Also, since I know jack about electrics, is there a certain gauge wire needed to connect the bits without losing any accuracy to the gauge?

Thanks in advance.

Silly question but why would you expect the oil light to go out before the engine fires. Normally just cranking does not genearte enough pressure to turn out the oil light

Probably how I worded it Andy.

When I picked the car up after having the FPR changed the light came on as usual with the ignition but stayed on when I fired it up. The garage topped the oil up and it still stayed on. It flickered when I got home & went off but now doesn't come on at all when the ignition is on.
