Well finally trying to sort out my previous mishap of clamping the wire in the manifold.

Problem is both wires seem to be the same and dont know which way to connect. My guess is, as they are not differet it doesnt matter. Any comments??

You will have to suck it and see. Question would be why you cut both wires at same time, unless trapping them severed them both of course. They power a coil when needle lifts it changes the magnetic state creating a pulse. Whether opposite current flow through the coil would have any effect i don't know. One for the electronics lads.
 
They had seperated afterbeinng clampled and running the engine. Got enough to put them back together but just dont know which was to which!!

There must be some witness marks where the outer was flattened or a slightly angled cut surely. Otherwise it's 50/50 chance of being correct. Don't think it will make any difference anyway.
