cheers Mark, yeah the bloke in aus I speak to sometimes said his mate put one in and it lasted as long as the car- not sure which cam it was but it says a lot for quality I guess!

I am waiting for an email back but spoke to them on the phone and they seem pretty good!

The lope at idle sounds appealing for us v8 men :D

between the top of the piston and the valve when opened ( got to add the gasket ) and take account for the timing of the opening

I am gonna do a volume exercise when the heads arrive, no point doing it now as the ones coming have been skimmed once.

aussie seamail is slow!

I belive the cam I am choosing doesnt need mods, I am trying to stay away from setting up the valve timing, it doesnt seem like fun! :D

? why not fit std lr sprockets then ,and its not a mod just ensuring timings spot on ,tdc covers a few degrees if not done with a dti

ive got a dti but I dont wanna use it lol, the sprocket has 9 keyways for adjustment so i should be able to get it on there ok.

I dont like the standard ones, always slack and then stretch more so after a year or two the timings off anyway, thats why I like the look of the duplex chain etc- I have sent them an email to see if its pre-stretched

Oh I put my chain back on today and the timing marks are indeed half a tooth out. So it would help to get it spot on!

you dont have to with std sprockets as they use center of cam and crank to line up, i wouldnt bother uchanging unless i was fitting vernier

I know at least that much james :p

its more the qaulity of the bits is the reason I am changing, shame I cant just take a link out of the rollmaster one that was on there as it has stretched all its going to now lol

Good story tot ell you all about lifters next week too!

cheers mark, I have to say it sounds perfect in the description! lets hope it is lol

Hi Fett,
Thought i would send you some photos of the carb for your motor. I picked up the rebuild kit today. Wise choice, accelerator pump seal looked on its way out. The rest did not look too bad. I might have to make one new link for you.

Now all finished. Just a question.. the cold start requires a exhaust feed to heat the bimetalic spring. Will you make a feed or convert to manual choke?
