Hi, looking for someone with good understanding of the fuel injection system as I don't know much about them.

right the problem is fuels not going up to the injectors its not even coming from the injector ports on the pump (where the injection pipes connect) I know these are non return valves (I think). well things I've done so far is checked and replaced the fuel solenoid from a 3 wire to a 1 wire 12v received... replaced fuel filter and a new sedimenter put a brand new fuel lift pump on also renewed the fuel spill rail. all of that to try to cure the problem with no luck at all the engine cranks until the battery's nearly flat but will not fire not even a glimmer of hope.

the problem started with black smoke when accelerating (never happened before) so put a new sedimenter on (the old one was ok no gunk in there) and since then it wont fire up. bled the fuel all the way to fuel filter and to pump also removed solenoid and it gushes out of there to so I know its getting to the pump.

any help is much appreciated many thanks.

sorry tried that (lost the plunger spring in the grass :D hence the new solenoid.

fuel would still not get up the injection pipes.

do you know solenoids actually opening ?you can remove delivery valves and clean them etc and check pumps turning through front inspection plate after that pump needs to come off

Thanks have not tried that when I take the valves off im guessing there are springs in there? or washers? when you say the inspection plate is that on the pump? cant say ive seen it but haven't looked will defo be looking in there. thanks again.

yes it clicks on and off with the wire to it. its got me baffled so thought id ask on here before replacing more parts and getting nowhere fast.

I am probably been thick here but I cant see no inspection plate its not under the belt tensioner is it? or am I looking in the wrong place I would up load a pic if I knew how :D

The inspection plate on the timing cover in front of pump shaft ...

If you've got air con, the belt tensioner is the inspection plate. Held on with 3 x 10mm (I think) bolts.

I am only a novice, but are you getting fuel to the fuel filter when you crank the engine over?

that's it... it is the belt tensioner held on by bolts. thanks.

yea fuel is getting all the way to the fuel pump free from air bubbles as well just not from the pump to the injectors.:(

get the inspection plate off and check pump is turning when cranking-if pump not turning, cambelt is gone.
And yes the inspection plate is behind a/c belt tensioner
