Hey Folks,
I'm just about to have a go at replacing the clutch on my 300tdi disco. I think the fork may have gone:doh:!! The pedal has dropped to the floor and does nothing else - all fluids ok, no leaks etc.
A garage replaced the fork for me a year or so ago, but obviously not with a reinforced/hd one!!! Cost 500 quid!!!!!
So, I shall delve in there my self. I have found the brill "how to" that is floating around the forums, and I will use that as my guide.
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if the threaded bar that people are using is smaller diameter than the bolt holes, and is it used more as a guide, with a nut on t'other end to pull it, or is it actually threaded into the bolt holes? If the latter is the case, is the thread size known? eg, M12?, M10?
As I have not done this before/yet, it's difficult to picture the exact scenario, I'm sure it'll all become clear at the time - so excuse my query if this seems a silly question!!!!
Ta!
