Still having problems with my 300tdi auto. It stalls when braking fairly hard to a stop not slamming on. Check the video to see what i mean the first run is gentle brakes and the second is braking harder
Timing has been checked and set properly, fuel lines replaced, new lift pump, fuel stop solenoid checked and replaced even done a 12v feed to it to check but it still stalls. It idles perfectly and drives perfectly just when I come to a stop a little quick it just dies. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Dan.

Sounds like the torque converter.have you checked your atf for level and condition or the filter is clogged up might be worth changing not sure if you are aware but will have to drain and refill give it a good drive then drain and refill again as you will only get about 5 liters out each time.

That was my initial suspicion, I have changed the atf fluid twice but didn't do the filter as there are arguments against it. What i struggle to understand is how could the torque converter cause this? The fluid is a good colour and the level is spot on.

A few years ago I had a similar issue with my old 200tdi, that had a manual gearbox so not so much of a problem but it had me guessing for a long while, if I remember correctly it was caused by a leaking hose on the vacuum pump.
