Yep, I had to squint.....

Does look like both are 1.5mm pitch.

Cheers
It's easier to count the threads on the picture than with a magnifying glass! Just need to move your mouse arrow along, one thread at a time.

Tis not funny, hit 45 and the eyes start to go..........................:oops:

I blame it on the heart meds.....................LOL

Cheers

My eyes are going around in circles trying to find M12x1.5 lifting eyes. Everything is course thread M12x1.75
Looks like the heads going back on.

No need to torque the bolts down when you put the head back on, just do then up moderately tight (with gasket in place obviously) and you'll be good.

Head bolts can only be reused a certain number of times on this engine (not sure on the specific number - should be in RAVE) so if you torque them down to just lift the engine out, that is another 'life' they lose!

That's good to know. Probably the way I'll go.

Yeah, I've read 5 times in the manual. One of those 'Workshop' youtube videos said only once IIRC. Can't remember which video. I'll probably bottle it and buy a new set.

Would a new set of head bolts be a good investment anyway? You might as well renew as much as possible while it is apart. You don't know how many times the existing ones have been used.

If you do that, you can do what you like to the old ones. Weld bits of metal on to make lifting eyes for example.

Yes, I think they will be a good investment. I don't think they have been off before. But, for what they cost, it makes sense.

The engine crane has arrived. :)

And the 27mm socket for the crank pulley and the 15mm socket for the top nut on the bellhousing which won't move at the moment
Unfortunately, I'm working away for a week starting early Saturday morning, so not going to get much done for a few weeks. :(

Oh no it hasn't........................:p:p:p:p

They do appear to make nice kit.

Cheers
Oops, that's in the back of the car!

Hooray! The engine stand has arrived! :D

Just make sure you are keeping me right when I'm rebuilding it anorl :p

I'll see what it's like with the engine on, but first impressions are its solid kit for the money. Good reviews on the net and you would have seen a few of the lads on here have one and like it. Don't know how they make them for the money. Very good value.

I was surprised for the price .

What have you decided for removing the dognut on the crank?

Cheers
