hi everyone I have bought some fire and ice side rails for my 97 defender 90, after deciding to remove the rock sliders! I told them on ebay the vehicle they where for as they have sold quite a few, I’ve managed to get one side on no problem at all but can’t fit the drivers side due to the fuel tank am I missing some thing or are they the wroung ones?

Put a link to them on here so we can see which ones you bought, 300 tdi ones have different brackets to TD5 ones.

The brackets in the photo of those side steps look like TD5, the same as the ones I have.
The tdi look like this

Hello All,

I have done the same thing and gone and bought the TD5 steps rather than the 300tdi ones.

The problem I have is that I have fitted the passenger side steps (no problem) and have had them a while so can’t send them back.

Does anyone know if you can remove the fuel tank fit then steps and then return the fuel tank?

Any other options greatly appreciated.
