A stunning car with low mileage but it has been a constant source of problems since I purchased it two years ago. Can anyone help me diagnose the latest fault. I recently had two new rear tyre fitted.. This may be a coincidence but now the rear suspension keeps dropping when it is parked and left unattended. On turning the ignition on it comes up with the message SUSPENSION FAULT. If I start the vehicle switch it off then back on again the error message goes. Just to add to the mystery some times the suspension drops within the hour but the next time it stays up overnight. I ruled out the compressor as once the engine is running the suspension rises immediately. It is an even drop across the rear so I ruled out the airbags. Please can anybody offer any suggestions. I have a reasonable knowledge of mechanics but obviously not air suspension.

Most likely a leaking airbag on the side that was jacked up, or could be the height sensor.

I wouldnt rule out airbags quite so quickly, just because both sides drop. Maybe both bags have gone. Second point of call would be height sensors. Although I have never had the suspension drop overnight , due to sensors. Which for me, leads back to bags.
Get diagnostics on it. Otherwise you can guess until the cows come home.

Hi Bob
I don’t know how your getting on or whether you’ve cracked the problem but I thought I’d chip in.
The vehicle will self level(lower only) to the lowest corner over night which kind of masks the problem. If however you can leave the door open over night it will not do this and if you have a leak at one corner it will be evident in the morning.
I use a pump up garden sprayer with soapy water to check the lines and bags. you might get wet hair
