Need to shift the old TD engine into the workshop, mount a new exhaust front pipe to meet up with the new downpipe, rewire the oil pressure switch and temperature sensor and fuel solenoid and alternator..... oh did I mention shifting 3 cut down trees?

Hi, I've just seen your write up, which is great! I'm doing a differant type of conversion, in that I'm taking out a V8 and putting in a 200tdi engine. I don't have much info on this to go by. I'm ok with most of it I think which is similar, but am a bit stumped on the wiring side of things. Could I ask you a great favour and ask you to describe the best you can, how to wire the oil pressure switch, temp sensor, and fuel solenoid, and alternator? Pictures would be a great help!

All I have on my engine is the remains of a cut off harness. this is what I do know... I have the big brown wire going from the starter to the alternator. I will have to put a thicker wire going from the starter to battery, as a diesel will need more current than the thinner wire I have going to the v8 from the batt. I also have a white cut off wire from a spade terminal on my starter, any idea where thats meant to go?

Oh, And I have just aquired a heater plug harness. Now some of it is obvious, I know one of the 'O' terminals (the bigger one) goes to the starter, and the other one goes to the first plug on the harness that is all looped together, But I have some wires from the relay that I'm not sure where they go too, A white one, that looks the same as the cut off one thats on the spade terminal on the starter, does that go to there I wonder? I also have a red/white wire which I'm guessing goes to the ignition switch? and a green/yellow thin wire.

now I have the same green/yellow wire on the cut off harness on the engine, so im guessing that goes to that, and another black thin wire which I don't know where it goes too. Oh, and seeing as I know longer have a coil, which the live wire feeding my washer bottle went too, do I now run a wire from the battery to feed that, and any other ancillerys for that matter? can you help with any of this?? I just found this, great write up. I'm doing the same swap to my Ninety now. I have the Disco 200tdi in, just waiting on a few more parts, need to tidy up some wiring and a few hoses. I had to do a Frankenstein fix for Power steering but I think it'll work. And another fix is coming for the oil cooler pipes that were too short. Additional steel pipe and some 1/2" stainless steel unions should get it done. I can't wait to drive it! And hopefully have everything sorted and running tip top for the 75th get together here in the US at Greek Peak in New York state.
