I've been reading about folks that have changed the O ring on the back of the pump by removing two bolts and then loosening the remaining two just enough to get O ring out and replace. Has anyone on here done this and can advise. Trying to avoid pump removal as it is a bit "involved"

I went to try that but bits of swarf dropped out so had to remove the pump anyways for a rebuild.
I think my o ring is leaking again as well, just outside of the warrenty.

You MUST have the pump on full cam whilst this is done.

Ok....is that like engine top dead centre or is it something on the pump?

The cam in the pump. The piston in the pump MUST be at the top of it's stroke. Remove the plug in the centre of the pressure head and use a probe. Turn engine clockwise by hand a couple of times and note when probe is pushed out furthest. That means pump is on full cam. Then job can be done without spacer washer falling out.

Sounds good to me. I take it I still can't completely remove the block on the pump though? ie...i still have to have two bolts attached and only loosened enough to remove o ring.?

No you cannot remove it, just allow it to come out far enough the change the O'ring, Leave one bolt in. Lube O'ring with silicone grease and slip over pressure head. Fit a bolt where O'ring has been fitted to head to hold head in place and remove the other one carefully without rubbing O'ring to allow O'ring to go into groove. Always have one bolt in. Then fit all the bolts and carefully and evenly run them up so as not to nip O'ring and tighten.

I can’t remember doing the cam thing. I must have seen something on YouTube at that time. Mine was leaking at back where the pipes come in. Two screws out and loosen the remaining two. Stretch the seal over the flange, then replace the two removed screws, then repeat with two that were left in. I’m working from memory here though as it was a while ago

I was sure the seal was going to snap when stretching it over the gubbins, but it went on. Good luck and let me know how you get on. Mine is still leak free by the way.
