landie man

As some of you know I've just taken out a V8, and put in a 200tdi, and I also put in a proper full 200tdi exhaust system. (everything runs well and great since the conversion by the way) The only thing I dont like is the back box on the 200tdi exhaust hangs down quite low.
Has anyone else who also has a 200tdi exhaust system had any trouble with bashing it on rocks etc when 'laning'? Mind you, it doesnt hang any lower than the rear axle casing, it's more or less exactly the same hight from the ground, so if I was to whack the back box, I would also damage the axle casing. Mind you I do have protectors over the casings.
Has anyone any ideas what I can do to protect the back 200tdi exhaust box section?
By the way, I was amazed to get £460.00 for that full V8 engine I took out and sold on ebay! And the guy was well pleased with it, it was also originally a rover SD1 engine. Mind you it did come with an adapter plate to bolt straight onto a defender LT77 box, with no adaptions needed to the 90's engine mounts. Plus I had reciepts for a new starter, water pump, altenator, dizzy cap, leads and belts, and full service. (cost £230) Plus it had only done 20,000, although I couldnt prove that. And it also had electronic ignition, with a spare modual I found at a swapmeet I threw in.
Are V8's still fetching that kind of money with todays high fuel costs?? or was I just very lucky? (I'm just curious) I was pleasently surprised to get that amount for it! The guy who bought it had a lovely mint 87 landy, but a knackered old 2 and a quarter petrol engine, and he only does a couple of thousand a year, so I guess for him it was worth it, and perfect. But even so £460 for an old V8! I only started it off at £50 with no reserve to get it out of my way in my garage.
