Hi All

Removing this from my 90 in order to fit a 300tdi and auto box out of our written off Discovery.

I was sold this engine with around 95k on the clock although I cant be sure on that, since fitting I've done the head gasket and exhaust/inlet gasket, new glow plugs and valve stem oil seals, tested the injectors and new copper seals, the odd new hose here and there, new clutch release arm, new steering pump (that cost me over £120 :( ), new alternator and pas pump belts and since all that lot I've done well under 1000 miles (havent even driven it since fitting the PAS pump other than a test down the drive as its un-taxed at the mo)
Its a great runner with loads of power, just smokes a touch at start up and then clears.
Gearbox is ok but a bit notchy in 3rd from memory.
Transfer box will be staying with me so I can try both the 1.4 and 1.2 boxes out once the auto is in there.

I'd be looking at £600 for the engine complete and not sure what the gearbox is worth? £100? open to PX on parts if theres anything I need (80" bits, 101 bits, possibly 300tdi 90 bits)

Engine will come with an as new front downpipe, hoses etc to intercooler/rad as well as the new bits mentioned ready to drop in, will also include the airbox but not the pipes to the wing or the clamps as I need to figure out how to get my snorkel to work with the new engine and airbox and fix it to the 90. could sell the rad and intercooler with framework as well by negotiation again this is proper defender 200tdi so no welding the chassis mounts etc.

I can also sell the PAS box and fluid reservior if needed as I'll be fitting the one off the discovery - £60 for that with the drop arm and reservior / pipes etc

Heres a video I did a few weeks back, its moved about 10 yards since then....

Buyer to remove with my (and possibly my brothers, depending on collection dates) help :)

Collection from Haddiscoe (NR146PG)

Cheers

You want £600 and help to remove it

Well the idea was so the buyer can see its all running ok. But you don't have to buy it do you ;)
But to be fair I didnt word that very well, my Brother and me are planning to remove this engine in a couple of weeks, however I thought it would be best for the buyer to see it in the 90 and running so they were happy, and if they can help then all the better but really theres not a lot of work there anyway, the tunnel and floors will be out for easy access to the bellhousing bolts, the front panel and bumper and maybe even wings will all be off as well and theres not a lot more to it :)

The exhaust sounds nice, what have you done to it?

Thanks.

Hi
Thats just a Gywn Lewis side exit system, they are basically 3" straight through, has a bit of a silencer but really lets the turbo spin up (as you can hear even without any load)
Cheers

Hi Yes I could do, guess it would need to go on a pallet though which gets a little expensive (about £65 or so last time from memory)
Not sure when I have time to remove the box, the 90 has been sitting without an engine for about 3 months now...
Dont suppose you're going to Billing? I could possibly if its paid for in advance (I'm going to have a full car coming back so wont have space to bring it back with me!) get it removed and bring it to billing for a bit of fuel money ;)

Cheers
Ben

PS - the engine/rad and all PAS parts etc sold a couple of months back, I just have the gaerbox and rear prop left now (and gearbox crossmember)
