Hello
I had a 200tdi conversion done on my Landy some time ago

the origional 2.5td pipes were extended to reach the now further away oil housing

One of the hoses has split now and im after 'options'

I was going to get two long flexible new pipes made up, but the end fittings with O rings are proving problamatic to get as replacment end fittings

the option to repair the old pipes isnt really viable as they look old now and perished anyway

Ive read loads of articles on here etc that talk about extending the TD pipes as i have now, but not many other options listed

I was wandering if origional 200tdi defender pipes would fit but when ive asked a few people if they wilk fit or indeed disco ones etc the answers all seem a little vauge ..... so i thought i'd try on here with the 'experts' : )

Any ides or options guys ?

I did think about just cutting the odl rubber bits off and putting rubber hose on with jubilee clips !!!!!

I used the disco rad and got pirtek to cut off the crimps and fit new longer pipes. I believe there is a couple of different fittings in the cooler end but they are interchangeable.
Twas 14yrs ago and all still good.

If you do use a suitable high pressure rubber hose, I'd suggest using 2 jubilee clips for each end which I did on mine 2 years ago and they're still there!

And don't use water pipe hose like a friend of mine did as you'll end up with the whole sump contents sprayed up the side of the car when they eventually explode!

You could take them to an Hydraulic hose specialist and either get them repaired by putting a joint in where the hose has split or have the offending hose / hoses made to your requirements :)

If you have a look at my conversion thread - "fiddly bits" all will be revealed. Pirtek sell the converters for a few pounds, they can be had for silly money on ebay. The TD rad fittings are the same as early 200tdis, then they changed around 1992.
