It starts but sits just below normal idle, for a few seconds. It then makes a slight sound around the brake pedal, you can feel it in your foot on the pedal too.
Then everything is normal.
I pressed hard on the brake pedal and started and it was much better.
I'm now thinking Vacuum around the brake booster area? possibly affecting the engines idle until the vacuum builds?

Braking system, can’t cause starting issue.
You put new injectors, refubished or second hand ones ?
The issue sound for me more like air in the fuel circuit ! Check the fuel Line, look for cracked hoses.

Correct for this vehicle.

Fun fact, an ABS module failure on the FL2 will prevent the engine from starting.

Thanks for the replies, is there a way to bleed the fuel system, to rule that out?

The TD4 is self bleeding, providing the rear low pressure fuel pump is running, and pumping correctly.

Hi

You didn't mentioned that you checked the battery ( voltage test is not sufficient )
It's could be a battery issue too, bad battery could make starting more difficult !
Try to jump start the vehicle to see if it starts on the button.

Hi,

I think you need seriously to check fuel pipes.
I had cold starting issue, recently I replaced a cracked fuel hose and now it starts on the button.

What could be the cause?
