I have been looking for good low mileage L322 Vogue for some time. Mileage seems to be the driver not age with 70k plus ones being advertised sub £10k although everyone I looked in this price range had had a hard life.

Super low prices less than £7k are normally there for a reason.

I have just picked up an absolutely mint T 03 TD6 with only 48k.

Get the gearbox serviced. Save yourself some heartache.

can i ask, how much?

As stated I have not found a decent L322 Vogue in the price range discussed here. I don't believe there are mint L322 with low mileage for under £10k. If there are I never saw one and I looked long and hard for nearly 3 mths.

Low mileage isn't everything !

Be carefull with the low milers as one with say only 50k on it could have been driven in London with stop start traffic all of its life !

I got mine with 135k on the clock, but it had been used as a daily motorway commuter

I'd rather have a high miler than one driven in traffic all day
Plus the high milers can go for silly money meaning there's a right bargain to be had

There are plus and minus points of low & high mileage cars and each one has to be taken on its merits. It is not possible to generalise on which is better as there are many more variables than just the mileage.

Hence why overall condition and checking the history is important. I can track most of this ones life on a year by year basis due to the vast array of paperwork it came with. I looked long and hard for one that matched as much of my criteria as possible, Green and Diesel were not on the list, but mileage, condition and history were.

Hopefully it will pay off in the future but only time will tell.

U still haven't answered the question, how much did you pay?

Please do as it would be very useful to other looking to buy now. :)

Thx!

I am not prepared to share details of my financial transactions on a public forum but as stated I don't believe a car of similar condition, mileage and history is available for less than £10k - If they are out there I didn't find one (i.e. I paid more than £10k) ;)

Hope that answers your question

10k is pretty high for a 2003 IMO

I only paid £8,850 for my 2002 over 2 years ago

i just paid 6 for my 2002 with 137 on the clock, the inside leaves a little to be desired & there are a few bits i'll be replacing, namely rear lights & the gear surround (broken hill descent switch), new FSR for front & adding a towbar, i like to feel i got a good deal.

there's a pic on my profile, i'd add more if the weather picks up,

Chris

Bargain ! :)

Is that the TD6

Oh and I love that colour too ;)

On a related note, I have seen two 2003 L322s with some corrosion on the rear wheel arches - this is a suprise to me as my 1995 P38 has no corrosion at all! They were both around the 8K mark.

These cheaper cars at 6-8K, are they completely rust free? Do you have to pay a bit more to find one with bodywork still in good rust free condition??

BTW both the cars I was interested in (with some wheel arch corrosion) seem to have sold pretty quickly

Cheers,

Jerry

My bodywork / engine are pretty much perfect,

mine is petrol not diesel, it's the 4.4 v8,

pretty solid service history, just needs a few small cosmetic bits.

It's not normal rust as such.

But it's usually when there's been a knock or scrape in the paint that has allowed water to get in.

I think the Panels are aluminium, I might be wrong though ?

I looked at a lot of RR and the only ones below £10k showed lots of signs of age, worn leather, the early signs of bubbling on some panels, age related knocks and scratches etc. Nothing major but stuff that I would need to address.

The one I bought has none of these, the only issues it has is the LCD display is missing a few digits (already being addressed). I wanted as good a vehicle as I could get and I am happy with what I have.

You pays your money and takes your choice.
