Hi if I was to get a second hand becm with key fob do I actually need the Ignition barrel , door handle and the dash ? Are they all coded to each other or do people just sell them all together so you don’t have to mess about with the keys because if I just got the becm and key fob I could just change the key blade over from my old key fob if see what I mean ??

Think you would need the ECU as well so I'm guessing it would have to be off a diesel auto.

I'm just guessing but as I said before think the new key you got from your mate was the same number as one already synced so won't work.have a look to see if there's any numbers on it. It's a gamble but ordering a key number 4 may solve your problems.was there an invoice with the new key?

Swapping becm`s and ecu`s is as straight forward as it looks unless you have proper diag to match everything up if you are having becm problems have a word with Rickthepick at Callrova he can test it and sort anything out

The new key sort of came out the back door of the main dealers parts department so I think it was originally ordered for another motor so it was already set up for that motor and was never going to work on my motor because you can’t reprogram them I found this out after I brought the key

When the vehicle was new it came with keys #1 & #2.
You can get a Key #3 and/or #4 from dealerships with proof of ownership if you know the original ecus are in it.

The bloke I brought it off said it had already had another ignition barrel fitted that’s why it was different to the key that fitted the door lock so I’m guessing the becm and other bits have been changed as well the eka code was on a bit paper taped to the handbook lol
