Yes the chap I brought the motor off did say it had a second hand ignition barrel fitted that was why the door lock key was different and the new key fob from LR was one that had been in there parts department for ages it was not ordered in for motor so I’m guessing it was already programmed to another motor and once there programmed you can’t change them I’ve heard ? Also forgot to say the eka code procedure in the door does not work now if I try to do it it ends up in key code lock out for half hour ?

Ok so now you have issues with the microswitches in the door lock :( Open door after 2 goes and it starts again.
You need to search for locking issues in the RR section its all in there somewhere. some good bedtime research:D

Ok yes Ex friend :). Do you still have the Key?

Talk to Les at Classic Rides North Wales. He is a genius on this stuff and is able to supply new key fobs from scratch. I have used him a couple of times, amd that from the other side of the world. Quick, friendly, always happy to chat, and better still, knows his stuff and will sort you out.

Difficult to clone a remote when there isnt 1 to clone;).

If you have time off go through Marty’s test sheet on here. May be more complicated with two keys but still fixable as it worked initially.

Thats unusual, Les has a very good reputation on the FB groups from all over the world. You sure its not the other breaker in wales who vastly overprices parts what should be considered scrap.

Might have been someone playing on his name or maybe he learnt something new. I am rather unforgiving and don't **** about.

That username is now effectively dead now.

All 3 microswitches on the lock actuator need to work to input the EKA. If one fails (usually the centre one as that takes a full hit of current each time you use the boot) then it won't work. You cannot sync a new key without them working unless it is a later car. Sometimes it needs the RF memory clearing or opening with a qorking kwy before it allows you to sync another one.

ok so i got the motor august last year it had a working keyfob with it that fitted in the ignition and another key for the door so 2 different keys i tried to put a new keyfob case on and swap the door key over instead of carrying 2 keyfobs around but the inside of the fob was in very poor condtion and just fell apart when i opened it i do have a friend that repairs keys he said it was u/s unrepairable so i had to start the motor by putting in the eka code everytime then in october last year did the same thing as its doing now but the engine was turning over just not starting so another friend plugged into to it and turned off the passive immobilisation.it started straight away now its not even turning over the red light is flashing all the time and i did buy from a friend who works for landrover a new key but he could bot get it to sync to the motor and basically said they did not know why and would not take this £200 key back (hes not my friend now )

Talk to @MrSporty on here. He's the key genius. He has an eBay shop where he refurbs keys.

I can appreciate that. Just seems a surprise he’d pull something like that. The guy makes a lot from the P38 scene, be silly for him to gain a bad rep over something silly.

Les gave up on eBay as too may people would bid on stuff and then not pay. He had a rant about, said no more and hasn’t been back as far as I know.

Hi sorry its been so long i found a new door latch fitted it today and still no different still comes up with engine disabled enter key code or press remote ? but i have noticed now the central locking is not working i can open both front doors but both rear doors and the tailgate wont open and if i pull the buttons up inside they still wont open ?

New latch will allow you to now enter the code, whereas faulty one will never input it correctly.
Do you know how to enter the EKA manually with the key in the door?

yes i know how to enter code turn lock to rear of motor 4 times to enter coding then input code but still no joy have just read on here that becm can lock its self and will need to be unlocked ?can be caused by a faulty door lock
