and Mark, you say

"if your not happy with your chip once you have adjusted it, then i would speak to someone who does live mapping in your area and tell them what you want out of it..mark.."

I would like that very much!!

thanks

eminenz m8.

that bill is way too much imho.
as for the car, you need to click 1 at a time and keep road testing to find the balance. as its a turbo diesel your not going to have smooth v8 pull off you will get a bit of lag from the turbo and then smooth power.
mine is not on max on the chip i have it will still pull off slow if i let it but find the balance in throttle and its fine, otherwise i can put me foot down and go into warp mode like yours is doing.
you need to find the balance in the chip and your foot lol
like i said before there not the best of devices as im a firm beleiver in live mapping but with a quality plug in sytem your getting near that pluss you can take it off when need be ;)

as per turbo hoses that will not help as they will crush and restrict power as will exhaust sytem and the fuel spill will cause probs with air in the sytem i think. most of that you can fit yourself with little knowledge..
the drop links on the anti roll bar? never done them on a p38 but if there simlar to the classic rr and disco then there easy and cheap..

No point fiddling with the chip until exhaust, turbo hoses, and spill pipes are sorted ... you'll just never get it right.

Spill pipes are small bore pipes normally with a fabric outer, looks like a woolly covering, that go between the diesel injectors. They crack, split and lose diesel and allow air into the system. Dunno if it's same for the BMW engine, but my 300 Tdi only needed about a foot of tube, cut into roughly 5" lengths ... and I had to buy 3m at the motor factors. Mind, it was only a fiver ... ;)

a quick note to say HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I am on holiday and will report back on my repairs in the RR when back in London on the 6th Jan.

all the best for the forum members!

Hi again guys,
sorry i am new to this and have no knowledge in mechanics whatsoever...

What I notice in my 60.000 miles 2.5 TDiesel is that between 10000 and 3000 revs the car struggles to pull...

is this to do with the low torque at low revs for this engine (then considered normal) or is it something else?

thanks guys!

How many revs 10k out of a diesel

happy new year chaps..

eminez, dont go paying that!
do all you can and shop around for parts.then pay for service..
you will save a fortune m8..

thats what I will be doing, getting the parts and getting them installed slowly...

hoses, leaks and exhaust first.

problem is, will it be ok to just go to a non land rover garage and ask for replacing the bad parts? will they know what to do??

all the best for 2009!
