Sorry for asking, but what is the purpose of this port on the actual vehicle ???
It is (should be) an operating diagnostic port - but not ODB2 compliant, it is a proprietary message format that you need a reader specific to the vehicle for.

There are others available and there are threads on here about them.

Is yours the L Series diesel or TD4 - both were available in 2000.

Its the L series 2.0 diesel

For the L series you either need Land Rovers proprietary T4 diagnostic equipment, or something like Pscan linked above.

There was no requirement for diesel engine vehicles to be OBD2 compliant until after 2006, so early diesels simply weren't OBD2 compliant.
