I need to replace the battery (AA Patrol reported to renew as soon as possible). Recommended spec is 12V 112Ah 870cca.
I have a choice of (1) Yuasa HSB334 Silver 12V 100Ah 830A 5 years Guarantee and (2) Yuasa YBX3664 12V 112Ah 870A with 2 Years Guarantee.
I am tending towards (1) with 5 years Guarantee but (2) fits the spec fully with 2 years Guarantee.
Would you folks comment and give me some Pros & Cons for the choice.

Don't buy less than recommended spec. You'll just be buying another one at correct spec in a fortnight.

Platinum on mine. Think code was 641X but it'll be on here somewhere.

Check setpoint on your alternator is above 13.8V if fitting a calcium battery and anything with 1000CCA is likely to be.
 
Got Hancook now, 643/644 Scania before but I toasted that. 750cca before that.
1000cca is a must for the diesel. Not so much on the V8 but you may as well bung the biggest you can in there itl keep the BECM happy. Price difference is negligible for the slightly smaller. May have to feed the red cable through a bit to stretch

(1) Grrrrrr says " Check setpoint on your alternator is above 13.8V if fitting a calcium battery and anything with 1000CCA". Yes it is Calcium battery.
(2) I read this "Calcium batteries are the most commonly fitted battery; they also go by the name of ‘wet lead acid’ batteries. The basic ingredients are no different to the old style, but these batteries are more durable and have more starting power. They have a good shelf life and are maintenance free. But they require regular use, so when drained they must be recharged using a charger to bring them back to optimal health. Modern vehicle charging systems will struggle to recharge these fully when they’re drained". Do I have any concerns for (1) and (2) ?

Get the car running and check the voltage across the battery using a digital volt meter. If it reads 13.8V then I'd stick to a traditional lead acid battery. If you have 14.5V you're good to go.

I read somewhere "The typical lead acid charging voltage is between 2.15 volts per cell (12.9 volts for a 6 cell battery) and 2.35 volts per cell (14.1 volts for a 6 cell battery). The ideal charging voltage for a calcium battery is 14.8V for the recombination process to properly occur"
What opinion do you have on this?
