hi, new to forum and have just carried out a 200 tdi conversion into my 1989 90 after the old engine turbo said "NO MORE" i fitted a new crank seal in the back plate but left the engine alone. after 2hours driving with the new engine the clutch was slipping and oil running out from the bellhousing. took it apart 2night and drained a litre of oil from the bellhousing.
now, for the oil to come this far the large crank seal in the back plate has failed, causing all this oil to be in there, but am i right in saying that the crank seal on the block/crank main bearing cap has also failed?
i now have a genuine part crank seal to go in, but now wondering if i should do the main cap seals aswell whilst the engine is out?
any help would be appreciated
Chris
