So I'm having a another wee issue :(

Bought the sync mate for my car, plugged it in, blue light then next it flashes red 4 times.. black box website says that means becm did not respond to wake up.

Anyone got any ideas why / how to resolve this?

Thanks

Did you have ignition on? It needs to be. If with ignition on there is still no comms look at the connector for the OBDII. They often have corroded pins or have detached wires.

lol, fair enough, no everything looks fine, blue light comes on then flashes red 4 times to say becm can not wake up

had the same problem, syncmate showing blue then flashing red led's- plugged another RF receiver and all was well again, synced off the eka code without the need of the syncmate

Ah so probably bought this for no reason as I do have a new rf receiver coming too.

Cheers

The EKA code cannot sync the EMS code and the BECM.

Aviemore, already looked nobody near.

No idea what's going on wammers :( got a new rf receiver and front door locks coming, will fit them and try again, fingers crossed.

hi , try taking blue wire off r f reciever and try syncmate again if ok leave cable off till u get fr reciever delivered and fitted ,,,, you can also leave kicker plugged in .. cheers mozz

Got the new rf receiver today. No difference, sync mate still giving error code becm will not wake up.

I have already said syncing of Engine ECU security code and BECM has nothing to do with EKA code or RF reciever. The security code held within the engine ECU MUST be written to the BECM, if the BECM loses that code no hand shake takes place when the ignition is switched on and the engine will not start. No dash messages will appear to tell you this. It has nothing to do with the alarm or locking systems. If when you switch on the ignition the dash lights up the BECM is awake. You have a comms problem from the OBDII socket to the BECM. Find out why. You are using the correct Syncmate for your vehicle of course?

How can I find out where the issue is, what do I need to do? I took the panel off for the OBDII socket and all wires going into it look fine.

Is there any fuses related to all this I can check if blown?

Thanks

Fuse 33. 5 AMP feeds OBDII socket. But you also could have a bad connection to engine ECU or BECM. Get a multimeter look at RAVE diagrams and trace the wires to the pins and check continuity. Can't do it for you from here.
