Hi there!

As the title says I'm after a new starter motor (Lucas 25749a) for my 1989 2.5 petrol 90, as all the teeth fell off mine..

Not sure if the old series 3 starters will fit, but the V8 ones don't as I have just compared the two on the bench.

Help! I can't use my Landy!

Cheers guys, I managed to weld new teeth onto the end of my old drive unit and file them into shape.

Touch wood it's all working fine so far! As it was so easy to remove, I might pull it back out in a week or so and see how they are holding up!

By the way, from my trawling g of the Internet I have discovered that the starter motor for mine is different to any other in the LR range for some reason.. Typical!

Thank god for my welder that's all I can say!

I have a complete engine for sale, the starter and dizzy are brand new.
 
Dingocroft got me a replacement 2.5 petrol starter when mine packed up, so they are available :)
