The dash is half stripped already, battery being topped up so good time to investigate my srs fault on dash.

I understand ideally I need a Nanocom to read what the problem is and go from there BUT
MY1995 DT only has an airbag in the steering wheel +1 above glovebox, plus 2 sensors atop the front bumper. They are all the yellow ones with yellow trunking.
I’ve had battery off for a while so there’s no harm in trying the simple fixes first.

The infamous A-pillar connection near the inertia switch by the drivers foot

There is a connection above this behind the panel

with some sort of box next to it? :confused:52FBEA38-E4D9-4F43-999B-67B6F4050967.jpeg

Passenger side is only one trunk coming up to a single connector behind the glovebox that goes to the unit

Had the dash binnacle gauge thing out there’s only four screws and two connectors. The bulbs are labelled in little writing so you can tell which is which

You can see the writing if you zoom in but these are SRS bulbs 1 and 2

When I changed my driver side blend motor srs light came on. There is a connector under dash, took apart sprayed with contact cleaner and OK afterwards

I would take out those 2 bulbs, clean the board connection very gently and the copper tangs in the bulb capsules and bend them out very slightly. Check both bulbs are functioning correctly.

Unfortunately you'll probably need diag to clear the fault.

you could just swap with other known good lamps from the dash. my dash was one short so i borrowed one of the less used ones, i forget which one. might have even been the glow plug light which i dont care about

Substitution would be my usual method but I have my battery and instrument cluster here now so will find some wire.

There’s ones in service/trs(Tc?)/cruise c that I shouldn’t need

DVM should come in handy and about time I learned to use one

All bulbs (everyone in there) work but connection is harder to get on srs ones so will clean and swap around with cruise + traction control as I don’t have it
Could hear Grrrr’s whisper ... ‘bend the contacts ever so slightly...’

What to DVM next week now?? Lol

Well you know how to use one so time for you to teach me something for a change :p

From owners manual :
Fuse 7 - under drivers seat - 10A
Fuse 23 - engine compartment - 10A

Both SRS related.
Il check these

Yes you'll have a continuity setting, most general ones do volts, dc and ac, ohms, continuity. Some do temperature, some do diode checks too

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay? I bought an ebay special last year as the leads on my old one were knackered.
Had a look inside and out looked exceedingly cheap, certainly wouldn't use it on mains stuff! The cables fell apart after a few days :(
