that was it out while i was changing the water pump 2 years ago. not sure about the engine oil cooler. its further down under the bumper where the chassis arms are, just below there. im guessing thats standard.
erm how long have you got,mine is standard 2.5 no mods and a manual.
don't know if i dare at the minute it ain't broke.

Hi Chaps,
I've got a standard 1999 DSE which also means I don't have one of those expensive phones which can record video images
. However, in the interests of science, I have just had a quick run up the "Tatton mile" and achieved a 15.6 second 0 to 60 time. I'm thinking that's quite poor. Hoooooever, I got home to find a note from the wife (I have mentioned she has horses haven't I?!?!) asking me to put the horse feed that's in the Rangie's boot into the food store. 90 KG OF FODDER IN THE BACK .
I'll try again tomorrow.

That would make you diesel about the same weight as the petrol then.

ok so here we go with sport mode on, quality is not great cos the sun was shining in so still have to time it to see if there's a difference.

just to add, i can get mine up to 110-120mph handy enough on the motorway. i assume thats the same for all the diesels? the chip aint going to change that?
Mine wont go that fast. Max mine went was arount 105mph (its chipped).
Been looking forward for an uprated intercooler but unsure if i can fit it in its original place due to the oil cooler.
Did you happen to mesure your intercooler from top to bottom, assuming you have the oil cooler in its original place.
Could clarify some of my doubts.

I think our P38 would reach these speeds but I haven't got the balls to try!! Anything over 80mph just seems like you're breaking the land speed record in these old buses!!
I'm sure its down to old age, because I've owned a few Jag XJR's (not that long ago) and I would quite happily take them to 150mph (speedo reading not actual and around a private circuit of course
) and feel like I was doing 70.

Watching and listening to these vids I think mine might need a bit of a tune!!
When I accelerate hard like that I get a sort of knocking/popping noise - though it doesn't always do it.
Also, I don't think mine's quite as rapid as yours - yet

120 , ive not even gone above 80 in mine (2.5dse), i like to cruise along at about 60mph/2000rpm on the motorway and get good fuel econemy, also dont accelerate too quick when around town, but if i want to it does go some for a diesel, much better than my 300tdi disco used to
il give it a top speed test out of interest next time i drive it and report back
on a 50 mile round trip to work town-motorway town, im hitting 32mpg !!!

You have something wrong with your speedo. If it's an auto 2000 RPM should be 56 MPH. You haven't got silly wheels on have you?
