Do you remember us taljing about the rattling from my fip, since doing the intank pump it has stopped, so could it have been the pump trying to compensate for the lack of flow? What's your thoughts?Morning Mark indeed it does.

Strange, it runs very well for a high mileage engine at 200,000mls but then it has akso been looked after very well.
Ive all the history from 2005!!
Yes, I did a 380Km run 5 up with the MAP pipe off cruising at 110/120Kmh, no problems. If the map is unpiped, will the ecu not use a default engine mapping and run more or less normally?
Very well put and indeed I'll be saving for that one!!If it's never been done before maybe a pump refurb will do it good, things do wear specially at that mileage.
It's an auto, know its never going set world alight but it's more I read more it seems to not be quite right. As far as I know all the engine has had done is the gay little air filter. It's only on 100k, and had a very good history up to 90 odd. Feller I got it off has only don't the filter and paint job. From your information your car sounds like a bit of an abortion. Small scotch and ginger, and a bowl of popcorn.
Well, opened the tank and removed the gubbins, more muck than a school kitchen U bend in the white plastic housing... removed the filter bag and soaked everything thoroughly with petrol, drying overnight in the shed now and will test drive it in the morning, but I'm pretty sure that must have been it, the inside of the housing was 5mm thick with black sludge and the filter bag on the bottom of the pump looked like it just crawled out of a swamp!
Veggie oil or bacterial growth, the tank on my rescue P38 was like thatSomeone been putting veggie oil in it? Sounds like something has been growing in there.
Sounds like bacterial growth to me, just cleaned the tank on an old Fergie and it looked like it was full of black slugs.Veggie oil or bacterial growth, the tank on my rescue P38 was like that
Had pull out 2 x 1,000 litre plastic central heating fuel tanks this year and wash them out due to bacterial growth in the diesel. Not a pleasant job.Sounds like bacterial growth to me, just cleaned the tank on an old Fergie and it looked like it was full of black slugs.

The trouble is the additive only has a short term effect and I don't use a lot of heating oil, at €1 a litre it's too expensive, I have stock of the antibacterial stuff now. Heating oil here is red diesel which is handy as I use it for my tractor & diggerAt the price diesel is you would think it would already have additive in it. In particular heating oil that maybe stood for long periods unused.
