Should be download of RAVE in tech section (top of RR section page). Use it as guide. Torque setting etc are correct but there are errors in it here and there.

think it was @kds had to cut one off but last resort that is!

Bit of coppaslip (pennies) on refit - hand tight it won’t seize then

Had to chisel one of mine off, best not refit and use the aircon fans.

Getting pump to not turn as you whack away is the nuisance

I do prefer to keep incremental cooling and still have the E36 one as a spare. You can upgarade to 300TDI one too

Had to fight with one or two but not had to get the grinder out yet ! I see in the video no fan shroud fitted so you`re on a winner straight away @Nialox and I ran my p38 dse for 8 years minus the fan and shroud no problem just useing air con fans but I will say you need to know the rad is in good condition not partly blocked.

To keep my FIP cool in the summer I take off the shroud and injector cover let more air in/heat out.
I found that cooling is better with front shroud part fitted. I don’t have the fin things

If the original plastic impeller is broken make sure you get all the bits out. I glued all the pieces back together to make sure I had it all.
You can check your stat by hanging it on a wire and dipping it into a pan of boiling water. You will see it open/close. (Courtesy of TC59alan).

Spoke to the previous owner (family friend). Water pump has been done fairly recently? Worth the ri

I am quite interested in the idea of utilising the AC fans. As my air con doesn’t work anyway.

how would one go about ensuring they find out the rad isn’t partially blocked?

As you have no shroud you could run your hand over the rad after a run (engine off of course) see any part feels colder than others bear in mind on the diesel water goes in at the top one side down to the bottom across then up the other side or should do if the center baffle is ok in top header, is the pivot for belt tensioner ok didnt see it moving in video I had one seize so wouldnt tension the belt.

Brillant. Ill check that tomorrow. I’ve a new belt tensioner arriving on Friday. This one does feel a little stiff.

I feel inclined to go down the AC Fan route if I can. my AC condenser doesn’t work so they’ve no other use
