Good idea. I think I might fit a one way valve in the clear pipe too - you don't happen to know what internal diameter that is?
The leak off pipe is a pain, I have bought all sorts of pipe and even the Bosch was showing signs of dampness around the ends when I stripped the head off last weekI think the issue is your leak off pipes. Don't bother with the cheapo **** off Island or eBay. You need the Bosch stuff. Ask @tomcat59alan!

Kiss of death mate.I bought my last leakoff pipe from Renault over a meter of it. Absolute pita to fit but all dry for the last six months!
Only their cars are rubbish!!Kiss of death mate.
I agree unfortunately. Most modern cars and vans are going the same way..sadly..There vans are not much better I know to my cost.
That sounds like a good planWhen I did my leak off pipes, I heat shrink wrapped the ends that was a while ago now but all ok up to press
