hi all can any one help me i have just got my self a discovery 300tdi drove home sweet as a nut over 100 miles now the problem. when it has reached running temp an when i stop at a juction some times its starts to die, the revs drop right down and wont rev at all after a couple of seconds it starts to recover and will rev up again.

i have changed fuel filter and still the same. any ideas, am thinking the worst and think it might be fuel pump??

any help would be great thanks

Yes, they're well known for filling with a bacterial 'jelly-like' gunge .. and whatever ****e is in the tank ..

Also, have you tried just bleeding the fuel filter .. I know it should self-prime, but I had one that didn't, small bolt at front of fuel filter holder.

fuel filter - rear wheel arch area on chassis.

Ah you mean the sediment trap, I bypassed mine then removed it.

Where are you, lloyd123?
I might have a spare lift pump in the shed
I changed mine when I was having fueling problems, turned out to be crud in the fuel line, but as i'd already changed the pump, I couldn't be bothered to change it back

Then all the crap and water borne ****e will sit in yer lift pump :p ;)
only if your putting **** fuel in the tank ,it takes years to block sedimentor ,any traces of water can be drained from screw under fuel filter, but the ali sedimentor been bolted to a steel chassis is at risk of becoming porus

yes i have tried just bleeding seems ok few second and fuel starts comeing out do you think lift pump could be at fault ?????

Had one before Xmas -

it seemed like the paint from inside the tank was peeling in sheets -

luckily the sedimentor caught most of it ... but we were taking it off and cleaning out 2 or 3 times - changed tank in the end for a PX unit
