Removing the EGR doesn't get classed as a performance modification, it's a removal of an emission control device which may require the vehicle to be given an early MOT or at the very least an emissions test.Dont forget to clean your intercooler out as well, also your inlet manifold shares it,s gasket with the exhaust manifold when you come to change it.
By the way just to trigger the debate further to those who completely remove their EGR Valve. How about letting your insurance know you have fitted a performance enhancing mod ,which they will be able to see with very little problem.Leaving the valve in with the blanking plate does not look as obvious .
I'm going to remove my EGR completely.
Fit typhoon exhaust with expansion chamber. (custom done)
New very large intercooler.
Larger Turbo and alot more mods, once they are done, then I'll declare to insurance company, for now like when I came to this country..
I HAVE NOTHING TO DECLARE!!
