If you were that jelous id have put board and lodgings up for you , your works better than mine....its almost like you know what your doing :)

Its paint , see how it looks when its dry but its highlighted that i havnt got a straight line on the thing....... How ever given i started off with dust , fresh air , newspaper from the 90s , sponge and 2x2 holding the windscreen up , i wont bee too fussy as it now at least approximates a bulkhead that is made of metal for the most part.
 
Paint always highlights any flaws, especially if it's gloss and when it's first painted.
I usually just think at least it's all one colour now and solid metal :)

Got home today

Paints impresive, paints dried perfect no drips or sags . My prep lets it down but i just cant spend any more time on it as i 100% have to have tis on the road in june for mot and retest before wedding.

It looks good at 10ft , it didnt look good at 50ft before i started :)

Its a bit darker than i expected, marine blue from paddocks isnt "marine blue"
 
synthetic enamel .

i have a 5 bar gas heater in the garage and it was hellish sunny all day.

got it warmed up with the heater , turned it off sprayed it , gave it a couple of hours to get touch dry m opened the door let the fumes out , took photos - put fire back on and got the temp right back up.

next up is doors ...... since i cant paint the rear end - it lives outside - ill paint it at a later date , its in primer atm.

Doors - do i - fix what i got , drivers door had its bottom frame replaced before i took it off the road but the skin is rotten along the bottom - and middle - but nowt i cant fix with wire wheel ,etch primer and filler - but not ideal. , the middle cross member has snapped next to the lock and it needs weather strips - door card (mines held on by self tappers in all the wrong places ) and a window mechanism and winder.

Passengers side needs the door bottom replacing and its skin is also rotten along the bottom + door card.

Been eyeing up a set of SPlandrovers Series style door kits with their nylon bush hinges - am i likely to find the door tops flimsy compared to my push button doors (which kept most of the rain out of the landy ! ) i dont want to drop circa 300 quid on a set of series style doors only to find i want a set of rocky mtn door tops shortly after !
 
After a wee spell in turkmenistan - followed by a spell in the north sea ive been back to it.

One observation is - the passengers side always looks better than the drivers side on anything i do......learn from the mistakes of the first side haha.

The bulkheads had the vent flaps and seals refitted , the inner dash panel is fitted , will do the rest once its on the chassis unless you tell me anythings easier to do out on the deck !

Working on the tub - round where the sills and the seat belts mount atm.

Alot of bolts , rivets and seam sealer being employed down there....

Oh and my hands are numb...im working in snow......horizontal snow.

Bulkhead in place .

Paddocks strike again ..... No holes in the passengers foot well for the brackets :( baws .

Lucky i own a drill :)

Had me tea , couple cans of cider and went back out....

Steering columns back in , inner sills are on , brake and clutch master cylinders are in

Starting to look like a motor again , next milestone will be the seat box going back in :)
 
Got the windscreen frame mounted today , also got the tub repairs finished,

Last thing tonight in the dark Trying to line the tub up , the seat belt brackets from chassis through tub seem to be stopping me. - the ones that go to the top of the aframe crossmember.

Are these slotted ? I need about half an inch back to line the front of the tub up with tubular outriggers and the rear crossmember and the inner sill uprights.

The only thing im fowling on are those seatbelt mounts , i think - it is dark. - any ideas ? Wont get to try tomorrow in the daylight im busy with family **** but its puzzling me.

Yep, the brackets on the top of the a-frame crossmember are slotted.
Just loosen 'em and you can tighten them back up once the tub is fitted.
And the tubular outriggers wont necessarily be flush with the tub, just fill the gap with packers if it's too big.
 
Thats good news.

They were flush when it came apart ..... Hopefully it goes back together close to flush

Although They migt not be when it goes back together seeing as ive cut the rear xmember off and replaced it using only a few tape measurements as referance - and replaced both front outriggers
 
Urgh , winds changed direction , just been woken up to the sound of badly placed tarp snapping inmthe wind.... Was tied down but the front edge was picked up wnd was whipping making loadsa noise.

More so the facking snows here , with vengance.
 
A Wing / slam panel painted blue and roof painted limestone.

Gotta get that stuff out out the garage first though before i can do the rest
