Here's the Landy as "found" in the field/over flow parking bit of a wee local garage...

I was thinking at worst case it'd need a new chassis but it seemed sound enough so was worth a punt and it was a snip at £500 :D

So the rear crossmember is goosed (surprise surprise lol). A bit of chopping and welding later....

The jobs a good un!..... Wait a minute I can beef that up a bit as I do plan on doing a bit of towing.

4 monster gusset plates later...

:D:D

I've also bought a new rear loom from autosparks and new wipac lights all round as its easier than trying to clean bad old earths.

Plus the fuel tank was leaking and I won one on the bay with the bash plate for £5 :D :D :D

So I've needle gunned the whole chassis and hammerited it ready for 8 liters of body schutz next weekend.

Here's how it looked after needle gunning,

Chuffed to bits :D:D It only needs 2 wee patches on the rear body crossmember under the 2nd row seats.

So now its just the welding and stick my 200Tdi Disco motor in and I'll be sorted :D

The worst bit of rot (less what was the back crossmember  ) is this outrigger

I even found my first wee hole in the chassis too :( So the radius arm had to come off......easy job eh?

NO it fecking wasn't!!!! The bolt behind where the calliper sits was seized solid. I tried to drift it out....no luck. So I removed the calliper...still no luck. Removed the hub and disc to get better access still no luck!!!! Eventually (3 hours later and hoarse from shouting and screaming at the bloody thing  ) I ground the head and tail off the bolt, got my big pry bar and had to bend the lug's open and clatter the wee stumpy bolt that had seized into the bush out of the housing.

I've rarely felt the joy I had when I got it out!!!! :D :D
