Greetings to all,

Is there anyone who has 16x10 steel modular rims (e.g. tuff torque) on a defender 90/110/130
Do they fit without any major modifications or issues?
I had an offset of ET-32 in mind.

I was planning on going with this size but would like to hear any experiences before taking the plunge.
Thanks in advance.

If you wait until tomorrow night I will fit one onto my defender & see what looks like. ;)

I’m running 16x10 et-32

Very wide, you'll end up with a turning circle like cruise ship. And it'll stick the tyres out of the arches, maybe even with aftermarket flares. Which in the UK is illegal. They will fit, but might off some compromises. What size tyres are you looking at? If you are on stock axles 33" tyres are normally on borrowed time and 35's are beyond what the stock axles can cope with (unless you are running Salisbury axles).

I’ve not trimmed the arches. I’ve been running this size for years now. Never had any problems.

I’m running extended arches and they are fairly flush. To be honest they are too big and impractical for everyday use. If I ever get to the point where I’m restoring my defender then I’ll probably go back to factory arches with 285 tyres. At the moment this is just a weekend toy so practically doesn’t matter.

Also it was a 3” lift rear and 2” front using HD springs. Im running a Salisbury rear axle as it came from the army.

This sort of feedback was exactly what I was looking for. My original plan was to go with 285s on 16x8 ET-32. I currently run 265s with ET0. So the 16x8s might be more practical then.
Thanks for the replies.

I've had 15x10s with 33x12.5 and 35x12.5 muds on tuned TD5 110s 6 or 7 years with maybe 70-80k miles with no issues.
Both 110s were on 2" lifts and extended arches and were fine for clearance and no poking for mot failure lol.
Have ran my 130 on 35x12.5s even on standard suspension ans arches for a month or two with minor rubbing on the flares but rubbed abit more then when fitted the winch and winch bumper on it so needed a lift or just bigger arches if keeping them but going air suspension and 37s anyway.

Ironically... A 33" tyre on a - 32 10" rim with the lockstops wound in abit can turn tighter than a standard Defender. My 130 with 37x13.5s with ET-60 17x10s has a tighter turning circle than it had when it was on 285/75R16s on 16x8 rims!

Never broken anything like shafts, CVs etc other than usual wear and tear with 33s or 35s and 110s and 130 have all had 180-240bhp with lots of offroad abuse and heavy towing.

If you want 16x10 -32 rims, they fit lovely but will just need to get extended arches. 285/75r16 is a nice tyre for them :)

I've ran 33's for a couple of years. I've only snapped one rear shaft in all that time and mine goes anywhere and everywhere.
The shaft I snapped was caused by the tyre bouncing when it was stuck getting up a incline whilst spinning. The sudden grip when the tyre bit into a rock caused it to snap.
I'm now a lot more careful and I've had no issues since

Yea, you see some lads snapping CVs and shafts every 2nd day they go out but if watch how they drive, you can see why.

I drive mine hard and I used get my 110 with KM2s where guys with traybacks were beaten a few times but I still knew where I was ****ing in the wind trying to get passed a section and never keep the throttle pinned when I'm bouncing up and down on rocky sections as that's guaranteed to give shafts a hammering no matter what wheel size your on if you suddenly get grip.
