A bit more done this weekend
Seems that ive spent forever last few weeks with very little to show but dash is all back in with a few upgrades
Fitted a minersty of defender heater/ac unit .
I didnt want to use the rotary fan switch it came with which was 3speed +v switched with an extra output for the ac compressor switch so i modified the landrover fan switch by ading a 3rd speed which was easy as there is provision for that just no terminal on the contact strip ,harder bit was addong a 4th contact in the off position to work a relay to switch the ac off when fan is off as landrover is all negative switched so had to run all the fan speeds and supply to the ac pump through neg switched relays . Pulled my hair out at times but got there
also added two extra outlets pointing towards your face these have two small plate fans suppling them ,
if i was to do it again i wouldent botherer with the extra fans as the new fan in the combined ac/heater has plenty of power without the extra fans
I used a new mud console as neaded the slimness of the double din radio to make room for the new vents
also fitted new landrover style switches for front spots light bar rear light bar and winch solinoid
All wired back into fuse board below
Was a bit of a pain finding the terminals but a nice man in china on ebay had some
Front spots and front light bar are only on with high beam ,rear comes on with reverse and also on the switch which is always live so can use as a work light without haveing the key in and switched on
When im on my pc ill add the link for the terminal for the fuse board
Fitted the relays for lights an winch in the space under the dash along with a heated front screen kit .may regret it later as will be all dash out to change relays
Still thats most of the wireing done .only issue i had was when i was testing all the lights befor i put thr dash back in the rear fog light and both front side lights didnt work
Side lights was both bulbs blown .go figure that out . Rear fog ended up after lots of testing to be the latched relay under the clocks
As i ran out of switch holes in the mud dash and didnt want a top pod i got a couple of small swiches for the ac and extra fans ,managed to carefully cut out the window switch blanks and mont them in there
Time for some more sanding and painting now befor i start the big reassemble
