Hello all, i've got a clutch and brake clamp and a cheapo stearing lock -I know these are just 'slower uppers' for thieves -but that really is better than nothing.

Apart from that has anyone got any cheap ideas to make the doors and boot harder to pop open? There has gotta be some good ideas out there? I would be devestated if someone got in, and as it stands my 10 year old nephew probably could!

Ideas anyone?

Cheers as always.
Steve

The problem with the security bolts above is the same key fits all. Keys are about £2.00 off the shelf.

You can fit these.

They can be fitted on the backs of the doors where the door top meets the window. You can either fit them right on the back or in the door cavity. The bolt throws out a fair ways either into the B pillar or behind it. Pretty cheap too.
Fitting them either in the door cavity or on the back of the door you bolt them to the inner surface of the door not the skin so bolts are concealed. The keys are pretty long and work in both sides of the lock. They are actually designed for garage doors about £25.00 a pair

Hi Locky,

do you have a link or a supplier for those locks?

I fitted those locks to both my garage doors and am very impressed with them. I'll see if I can find some info too.

did this mod about a year ago using the garage door locks, very simple to fit and a lot better than standard landy locks lol
Cheers Steve

Nice work.... That looks simple and cheap enough to make it worthwhile even on a soft top landy! .... Next job on the list I think. Thanks for the photos.

Can you not just undo 4 bolts at the hinges? Then lift the whole door off

not on mine :) nuts are tack welded in place.. end of the day any security can be bypassed all you can ever hope to do is slow em down or make the next one down the road an easier target :)

Cheers Steve
