i wish.
just got me 200 tdi transplant back, wot a dissapointment.
accelleration no different to the old td engine(maybe slightly quicker, nowt to shout about)
as for top speed,it took about 2 miles to struggle upto 70mph(the old td would do this easier)
i was expexting a massive difference in both accelleration and top end
was i expexting miracles/too much?
are there any easy checks i could do to make sure the engine aint fooked
is there anything i could do to the engine to try and make it perform better(apart from burn the fooker out and start again)
cheers for any help/advice

look for poor fuelling, air filter issues, the turbo and intercooler pipes all plumbed up properly. Who did the conversion?

Sounds just like mine. Defender 200tdi engine fitted to a 90TD. I've been told changing the transfer box will show improved speed and fuel consumption. I'm getting the transfer box changed on mine soon so I'll post when it's done.

The experts on here will confirm or deny the transfer box improvement but does yours still have the original TD tranybox?

the disco box is about 15% lower than the standard depender one so you'll deffo see the improvement - have a read of the thread above Beaver

i've had 90 out of mine too...90 KMh on a good day down hill with the wind behind me!

Yeah, I'd seen that but the turbo is different to mine. I'm guessing that it's a disco engine but what do I know :)

Pics of mine here, you can see the difference.

Yup Beaver, yours is the Deepender 200Tdi engun with the turbo slung up high. The Disco Turbo is mounted down low, hence some very nifty pipework is needed.
I was thinking about doing the tranny box swap, but I like the faster acceleration from the deepender tranny box rather than the higher and lazier upper speeds.

Iv got a 300tdi conversion in my 90 was a 2.5N/A before i can hit 95-100 and it sits a 90 no worries, also off the lights beats most chav corsa's and little 1.1's lol :D :D :D

All this talk of turbos not working has got me thinking about mine. How do I test if it is working???? The burn on my wrist indicates that it's getting hot :)

I can say that I cannot notice or hear it. Should I hear it? Should I feel it. When does it kick in and can I check it when it's in neutral on the drive?

TIA.
