There’s a tell for if the becm is awake. You’d need good battery but there’s a light on the autobox glows then goes out when it’s fully asleep. Lots of stories people locking themselves in the night silently sitting there watching.
I tried this one under Mozz Smith's guidance yonks back.

Council have upgraded street lighting. Guess where stricken P38 is? No prizes for guessing this one correctly...directly below a street light... Hahaha!
An empty toilet roll tube placed over the LED works if you can get your eye down to it:)

There is another tell.. a faint hum.. i presume it's a fan on the becm.. you can hear it stop when it goes to sleep.. and start again when it wakes up. You need good ears and somewhere very quiet

I’ve got no hum? Never seen fan under any of the seats either. Used to get a faint sound from what I presume was a vent fan when the hvac dial wouldn’t go right down
it might be in the dash somewhere or even under the hood... i should really trace whats making the noise if i can.. its very faint

Mine has low pump noise after switch off, but only sometimes. It sounds like the tank pump running for a few mins but never found out why. Always stops after a min or two. Aspirator in dash stops as soon as HEVAC goes off.

Some Thor have fan in engine ECU housing, but again don't know if it's on a timer.

My Hankook was fine until it wasn't. :D:p

I remember driving to work and it was fine, and then a few hours later it was dead.

As for the sleep test, the LED near the gearlever is surprisingly bright to me, mine too has an odd noise inside that disappears when the car goes to sleep.

Just over 2mins it takes for it to sleep IIRC.
