Hi all,
Just thought I'd post this if it's ever of any help to anyone.

Recently Had issues with my early SC 2005 '55' ABS system, then as a result taking out the HDC, EAS, DTC etc etc.
It was throwing up several faults, control module, ABS control internal failure, canbus etc.
The pump/control module is located on the hood, on the OS.
I had read several issues with earlier L322's/Beemas relating to heat from the engine killing them.
Anyway, I was 'umming sending it off to an ECU repairer, was going to cost around £200 to test it and repair if needed.
Again, researching some said they needed coding to the ECU, some said they didn't.
Plenty of used ones on eBay, decided to take a punt on one (£20 delivered matched my part No with one listed for a D3/ RRS - part No SRB 500 163)

Fitted it..... Bled all the brakes etc, and hey presto, problem solved!!
All sorted, no more faults.

So mine didn't need coding either.

Didn't @Saint.V8 post something a few years ago on that subject? May even be a write-up in the Technical Archive.

Al,

Whilst searching I did come across a thread that Ant posted on RE the module getting fried under the hood being well documented on the early L322's/certain Beemas, I didn't come across any write ups though.

Could be 2 reasons I missed Ants write up, firstly muggins here missed it whilst searching:oops:

Or Secondly, he didn't do a write up!?
I'm sure the answer will soon arrive :D
