Fitted some new seats (well new to me) today that I got off Colminator on here, cheers mate.

Exmoor trim modulars.
Also fitted one of the mud rail seat raiser/mover backward things - undecided about this as i seem quite high up now, will live with it for a bit and decide.

Anyway photos
Before, ex-military squab seats (these are up for grabs - pm me if interested)

Went smoothly apart from one knacked rivnut that wouldnt come undone - grinder made short work of that, when it was out it was apparent it had been cross threaded. Cheers REME. lol

My wolf wheels are the same, short studs and torqued to 170nm.

If no one comes forward for your old seats I'll have em, Mine are worn but ok. New seats look comfy! Do you find the driving position much different, would have thought it'd put you closer to the wheel?

Haven't driven it with them yet.

You gave me that old tilt so you can have them FOC. Wanna meet in Godstone again when your next down this way? Consider them yours mate

I changed my seats a while back. Whilst the new seats look better and have headrests, both my daughter and I agree that the military swab style ones are more comfy. The military ones also give a lower and better driving position for me (I'm tall). The new seats feel they are positioned more towards the centre and offset the driving position slightly.

My 'new' seats probably need new foam.

Yeah they feel more 'narrow' to sit in and I feel higher, I am not sure about the mud rail thing. I suspect I am going to take that out.

The squab seats are not bad but the lack of higher up support was aggravating a previous spine fracture so I need something that came higher than mid back lol

I do alright wigh the standard seat but I find the larger passengers struggle with the lack of side support and slip of round tighter corners...

Godstone sounds good. I may have a trip to kent soon in the landy so I could meet up with you in that at a weekend, or just buzz down in the car after work like last time.

would be quite nice to have a look at your landy, i am around most of the time the next few weeks so whenever works for you.

i found the squab seats a bit of a mission off roading aswell, if i was a bit enthusiastic i almost fell off lol

yeah took out the seat raiser today, was to high and far back, my head was behind the window and it restricts vision. Feels better without.

Spoke to my mate about using his workshop for a 200tdi swap over the summer aswell :)

Not totally confirmed but my 4x4 engineering mate has come up trumps with:

a disco 200tdi engine
all the bits to make it into a defender spec 200tdi engine (turbo, manifolds, viscous fan, front covers, air housing etc)
the correct bellhousing so i dont have to #### about with my lt77 one.
the rest of the gubbins (intercoolers etc)

He customs makes exhaust as part of his business so think i will get a stainless system for longevity to

So hopefully will be able to get it as quite a factory looking install, just need to work out a slot to get it in the workshop, prob wont be till the late spring/early summer though

lucky its not easy finding all the bits

yep been searching pretty much since i brought it.

defender 200tdi engine with a cracked block so the parts have been stripped off that. Also had rust issues so owner not up for fixing so got shot. he parked it in his yard especially for the eventuality, then he found a good disco lump :)

pretty chuffed :)

can you imagine being in a 90 firing a gpmg out the window on the move?

that **** is strictly rambo territory lol

Bad enough trying to fire it from the hip lol let alone out of a window in a moving rover :) spent hot brass bouncing round the cab... it'd get everywhere lol

Cheers Steve

especially down your sleeve if your the driver where you wont be able to retrieve it quickly.....

I wouldn't advise resting an s l r rifle on the top of a 110 windscreen top & firing & driving like A lunatic during A contact.
The s l r won it jumped back smacked me in the face , the boyos must have been laughing there arses off.

I managed to burn my hand with a GPMG on exercise down south. We were part of a heli assault on the JOC, I was tail end so finished the belt off in one burst of about 75 rounds (to make it safe before jumping back on board), :violent: threw gun it, jumped in, slipped (wet / icy boots) put hand out to stop fall and ended up with hand on barrel - ouch
