That's exactly what mine does and has done for over a year that I've owned it....bigish cloud of black smoke, does it much more when engine is warm, gotta make sure no-one's walking past the back of the car when I start it! Asked the same question when I joined the forum!

as above normal for disco or any " not new" diesel. just watch out for cats, kids and dogs behind when you start up

What colour smoke? If it's bluish white it's unburnt diesel and it means either your glo-plugs are f****d or your injector timing is out. On mine it was the latter, caused by a loose crankshaft pulley. It should not smoke.
