Hi I'm rebuilding and servicing my Zenith and the pump is stuck inside the housing. Does it matter. How does it come out. Picture below is from YouTube showing the cylinder. Mine won't come out.

I really don't remember the zenith so no clue how it comes out but if it doesn't move then it's just blocked up with old fuel and sediment. It can turn to a varnish and eventually got rock solid and glue everything up.
Carb cleaner to the rescue, or a sonic bath

Ok thanks. Is fuel supposed to come out of the hole in the top?

Ok the piston is properly stuck I. The bore. I’m soaking with wd40. In case it doesn’t come out or is fooked when it does. Does anyone have a broken zenith that I could make one good from the 2?

Many thanks
Chris

Wd40 won't help, you need carb cleaner as a minimum to break down the deposits. A spray can isn't expensive

That worked. Thanks very much. One last thing do you know the nut size for the butterfly as I seem to have misplaced mine. Thx again
Fab.

Sorry no clue, but looking at a zenith i have on the bench, the tape measure says approx 11mm. Of course it won't be a mm nut..
