inch and a half wont make much difference plus will give him a little safety from rad puncture in a shunt!
would think it'll be fine if its a bottom and top mount he has, just make a couple of 6mm spacers to extend it forwards a little is what I'd do

noo inch and a half is nearly 4cm so will give a little less restriction on air to rad and means the bumper has to be pushed back a little further to hit the rad!
