Was wondering as im thinking of removing mine, I have found it cuts in quite alot now I have big knobblys on it, especially in the wet/ice. Would be helpful to hear of any past experiences, I know its a simple job and making the lines e.t.c. is all in a days work but you never know what headache parts there may be...

Change the tyres for something more suitable and with more grip. Or you can just pull the fuse.

I'm not that intrested in MOTs but is there not something in the 2012 MOT regs about testing ABS if your vehicle left the factory with it fitted.

How would this affect the future MOTs if it comes up as having ABS it has to work.
Or is this going to be age related as well.

why would you want to do that !!!

As its kicking in due to the knobbly tyres or a possible fault thats not registering, ABS isnt needed and bearing in mind this is off road more than its on road its something I really dont need.

Tyres are staying as they have just cost me a bit and they perform off road really well, it may not be the tyres but there are not ABS faults showing. Pulling the fuse will disable but its not ideal as it wont have a split circuit system in it, instead it will all go through the pump still

Its already part of the MOT, if its fitted then it has to work, its not a case of if it was factory fitted, if its not there then its not tested. Traction control comes in next year though...

YES YES YES - carefully remove it all and send all the bits to me!!! It's a useless system, you don't need it, I will take it off your hands!
