As above really. Been doing the final checks before I start welding and I have just put a screwdriver through the rear inner arch where it sits against the outer quarter below the rear side windows. I'd like to see what it looks like inside between the inner and outer rear quarter.

Final welding list is:

Completely remove both inner and outer sills, replace with YRM panels.
Completely remove both rear outer wheel arches, replace with genuine LR panels.
Patch 3 small areas on chassis.
Repair as necessary both rear inner arches.
3x small patches to boot floor.
Chassis patch under rear top o/s spring mount.

Everywhere else seems to be good. Planning to start the welding ASAP, just got to collect a new bottle of argoshield.

Then the waxoyl and oil engine oil will be applied in copious amounts

Found this on another forum.

Perfect hippo!

Looks good and easy enough to fix. Will do a little more rust poking now until I get clean steel :)

Chris, my inner arches are mint :D

Hi chaps, sorry for jumping in but I have a similar problem, does anyone sell the rear inner wing for the Disco 1? Ronnie from YRM said they don't do it, I have done searches everywhere but to no avail, there is not much metal left on mine and I can twist the seat belt anchorage, please tell me someone can help

I'll just be re-making them.

I'm taking the rear quarter off mine this weekend if you need any more detailed pics Matthew.

Excellent news, I ordered a genuine panel from Rimmer's today not sure exactly how much it came too but it was around £120 delivered to my door in Shetland, that the only draw back to living on an Island.

It would be much cheaper to buy for you Mathew if you live on the mainland, I think it was around £58 plus V.A.T and the rest was probably delivery charge look forward to your pics Brian as I haven't cut mine out yet and I am dreading finding more of the brown stuff

Who supplies them?

Got the rear quarter off mine today and it's pretty solid under there.
I will text you a picture Matthew.

Is the rear quarter panel removal a difficult job? I need to replace the rear wheel arch section on the pass side of my 5dr Disco and need to bring the quarter away from the body a little for access. I can see some random blobs of weld which appear to be holding it on in places, is it also bolted on?

Ben
